Rudder Effectiveness and Single I/O Prop Walk

Thanks to your suggestions we have added Rudder Effectiveness and Single I/O Prop Walk.

You can now select low/medium/high rudder effectiveness from the start menu. Be sure to refresh your browsers on the menu page and then again on the simulator page.

For a single I/O with an engine speed of 600 RPM, the engine in reverse, and the rudder turned hard port/starboard, the boat will move in the direction of the rudder.

Please let us know how the changes work for you.

Happy Boating!

New Spring Line Deployment Feature

Thanks to Iain’s suggestion, we have updated the spring lines, so that it is now a two-step process. To deploy a spring line, first click on a bumper/fender, and then click on the cleat. To remove a spring line, just click on the bumper/fender.

A Downloadable Version

Hello Boaters,

Many of you have been asking for a (Windows) downloadable version that runs independent from the internet. Click on the link below to download a .zip file to your favorite directory, unzip the file, and click on TheBoatDocker.exe.

Please let me know how this works for you.

Moving Boats

Hello Boaters,

Thanks to Alexander’s suggestion, we just added a “Moving Boat” to the menu. In this scenario, a moving boat moves from right to left and the pilot of this boat doesn’t stop for anyone or anything!

Moving the boat to any starting position

Thanks to a suggestion from Ian, there is a new feature to position or reposition the boat when the simulator is STOPPED! Click on the boat to drag it anywhere on the screen (if you drag it out of bounds, nothing will work properly) and click on the wheel to change the heading of the boat. Refresh your browser and let us know how that works for you.

A New Look

Hello Boaters,

TheBoatDocker has a new look. Please let us know if you like it.

p.s.  There are many changes to many pages so if it does not work at first, refresh your browser in two different places: First refresh it at the opening menu page and then refresh it again at the running simulator page.

Man Overboard

Hello Boaters,

To all who use the man overboard dock configuration for training, it has been modified so that the “man overboard” is now on the move. Click anywhere on the screen and the man will slowly move toward that click.

As always, please let us know if this works for you!

A New Release

We have just released a new version of the BoatDocker. Many of the changes are behind the scenes and we believe there are several subtle performance improvements. As always, please let us know how it works for you.
