Hello Boaters,

TheBoatDocker has a new look. Please let us know if you like it.

p.s.  There are many changes to many pages so if it does not work at first, refresh your browser in two different places: First refresh it at the opening menu page and then refresh it again at the running simulator page.

  • Suggestion- A towing mode, where there is a second boat which you cannot control, but is free to move and has attachment points for practice hip-towing into a dock.

  • A single engine with right turning propeller should have prop walk in reverse, i.e. turning stern to the left, irrespective of the ruder position.
For a left turning proppeller stern will turn to the right.

  • Well done. Thank you. For those of us more familiar with a tiller, would it be possible to mark the top of the wheel when rudder aligned with centerline? How about a beginners setting with wider slips? If not, no matter, this is a wonderful accomplishment as is.

  • A suggestion – drag the boat to a different starting point. This would allow setting up a predetermined entry point to say a marina or docking area known to practice. Eg, at my marina I always come in from the opposite direction.

  • I had worked with you on an issue before, and you gave me a separate link to try, “https://theboatdocker.com/dev/simulator.html”

This link works just fine with the new look, however when you try to launch the sim from the site it does not work still.

And I like the new look.
    Thanks,
    J

    • Jason,

  • When I try to run the new version, the boats and docks do not load. I am just left with the controls on the rights, with only water on the rest of the screen.
I have used the sim plenty of times on this computer so that shouldn’t be an issue.
Thanks again for a great sim,
    J
